Text for Ad
In creating the text for your Ad, you should follow some common sense rules:

  • It is recommended that you not include your name, address, phone number or E-Mail address in your message. You really don't want people being able to contact you directly as a result of this ad. Instead, you want them to respond into your Mail Box where you will have a chance to review and select the responses that interest you. From there you can directly correspond with them via email and make whatever arrangements you feel safe with.
  • Use the message area provided to write something about yourself that will attract the type of person you are seeking.
  • Be simple, direct and most of all, be clear.
  • State what you want, what your expectations are and what you like.
  • Describe yourself and your expectations honestly.
  • Do not be sexually explicit, profane or intolerant in your message, that will cause your Personal Ad to be rejected.

What will be shown to viewers will be this text and your first name (Tag). Other questions that you answered above, (with the exception of those items that were specified as not being revealed to viewers), will be visible from your Personal Profile, accessible from your ad. So you needn't spend a great deal of time covering that ground again. With the exception of filtering for disallowed words, we do not edit or make suggestions for you.

At any point you can come back, login and edit anything you have entered here! Although we have provided a lot of room for your text, consider not writing a novel. Your entry will be checked for foul language and other objectionable words. Only use your ENTER KEY to make a paragraph. Do not attempt to use any HTML in your text.

Section #5
Your answers to the following few questions will be displayed below the text for your ad that you entered above. You must select something from each of these. These questions are about the type of person that you are looking for.
Age Range
Area

The Hudson Valley is pretty big, what is the general geographic area you are willing to travel to?
What are you looking for?
Education

Until December 31, 1998 HV/Net is waiving the charge for photographs to be included with your ad! Just get us the picture as instructed above and it will start showing up!

It is recommended that you not directly contact any individual that may respond to your Personal Ad. In responding they are requested to provide their E-Mail address as a way for you to communicate with them. This will appear for your use when you review the responses to your Ad by logging into your Mail Box. If they did not provide their E-Mail address, or the address is incorrect, you should assume they are not serious in their reply, or at the very least, you should seriously question their motives for requesting contact in other ways. As in all things, as an adult you should exercise extreme caution in responding to a blind meeting service. By participating and actively advertising and responding to anything you find here, you assume all liability and HV/Net, its Assigns & Agents, cannot be held liable or responsible in any way for anything that may transpire.

Length: The longer a profile is and the more information you give about yourself the more interested a man will be in you. Short profiles that just say, "Hi my name is..." or "SWM, 5'7", 145#" don't tell a man anything about your personality and aren't eye catching. A man is more likely to just skim over a short profile and more likly respond to someone who took the time to disscuss themselves. Content: Give as detailed description (both physical and personality) as possible. Include information such as height, weight, hair, eyes, and anything that stands out about you (ex. moustache, beard, tattoos). For personalities, try favorate types of music, hobbies, occupation, or education. Add the personal touch. Make the profile reflect your personality, add little bits of information that describe you (ex. most people think I'm child trapped in a man's body, those who can do, those who can't watch me do it). Do's: Pictures: The better your appearance, the better your profile looks. Smile in your pictures Look happy and relaxed Profile: Add short stories about something interesting you did Add anything personal that will help someone understand you better Dont's: Don't write bland profiles, make your profile interesting to read. If you can catch a man's eye in the first few sentences, he's more likely to respond. Make your introduction line appealing. Writing "Hi" is not going to get him to click on your profile. Try somthing more flashy and interesting.
