HV/Net was started as a Tour Guide to New York's Hudson River Valley. We've spent a great deal of time assembling the most comprehensive collection of contemporary information on the Hudson Valley available anywhere and creating interactive programming to deliver this information to our viewers. The programmers we use in-house are versed in "high-end" PC data engine technology, (FoxPro), so everything about HV/Net is accessible via this technology. We have been using it internally since the beginning of our site. This technology allows us to dynamically serve up information in web pages by processing queries into our "Relational Database" of information. The page potentially changes from one viewer to another as new information is fed into the data tables.

Although this programming makes HV/Net extremely functional and dynamic in its information, it is also an extremely expensive and daunting task to put together and make function.

We've been at it now for several years, building, tweaking and honing the programming. Thousands of man hours have gone into the creation and maintenance of this extraordinary suite of programming.

In discussions with WebMasters all over our Valley we have discovered a real need on their part. They need dynamic information, dynamically available. But their financial resources are limited when it comes to creating programming to control their sites and they individually haven't the in-house talent versed in high-end programming languages to implement the things they need.

We are told constantly that they are having to rely almost exclusively on packaged boiler plate Perl scripts found in libraries and having to downgrade their expectations on their presentations. They cannot create commercially viable programs on their sites because everything they do must be done manually and there is little to no automation of processes available. Or they are having to rely exclusively on manually created web pages, taking enormous amounts of time to edit and maintain each time something changes to the information.

If HV/Net had to do everything manually we'd be out of business before the afternoon waned!

So we put our heads together and have come up with a way for other webmasters to tap into the interactive and automated capabilities that we have developed for HV/Net. We've assembled a suite of tools that enable the webmaster to turn over certain aspects of their presentation & maintenance to our services, automating page counts and statistic gathering, delivery of certain kinds of information, placements of banner ads and other forms of advertising, tracking clicks on objects and more. The point is to provide you with the tools, the programmign keys, necessary to create a financially viable, highly functional web site, with no effort on your part other than filling in a couple of online forms. You are freed to concentrate on the important things, getting and keeping your paying clients.

In addition, webmasters have a real maintenance problem with certain types of information. They would benefit from offering certain kinds of user updated information, but haven't the time to manually input the data or haven't the resources to pay for the programming to make it happen. Yet they also don't want to link into some anomyous mega site that would return information about places of absolutely no relevance to them.

What we've done to accommodate this is to create spacialized access into three of our online programs allowing the webmaster to fine tune the returning information. In the case of the Calendar, the returning information can be limited to just those things entered into the system by the webmaster himself or herself.

We've created highly parameterized CGI calls into our data allowing the webmaster to pick and choose exactly what they want returning to their site. They can limit to a very narrow focused geographic area, a very narrow focused category or be expansive and present information on a much broader scale. The desicsion is theirs. And by participating in the programs, webmaster can allow their viewers to become direct contributors to the information being presented. Put links to add events into the calendar, or add Classified Ads. The decision is yours to implement, quickly and extremely easily.

All of this instantly available to any site that wants to participate in the Hudson Valley.

In addition, we've created new programming to allow you to log in and exactly detail what this returning information is exactly going to look like on your website. We've created the ability for you to detail areas of the returning webpage so that all the information actually looks like it is coming directly from you and your web site instead of us! You are in complete control of nearly every aspect of the returning screen display!!!

How do you BECOME AN HV/Net PARTNER?

Nothing could be simpler. If you are a business already listed in HV/Net, all you need is your ID and Password to log in as an Advertiser. From this interface you can control all aspects of both your advertising programs on HV/Net as well as your participation in our Partner Program. If you aren't currently listed, just submit your information for a Business Listing and you are automatically enrolled in the Partner Program. If you are located outside of the Hudson Valley just submit your information for a Business Listing and in the "Comment" area, indicate you are interested in becoming a part of our Partner Program. If we agree, you will be sent your log in codes. It's literally that simple!
