5 Albany Avenue
Open to the public since 1985, was originally built as a Masonic Temple in 1916. Today it houses the Columbia County Historical Society offices, research library, collections storage, and exhibit space. Changing exhibits, research library; open Monday thru Friday 10 to 4 from May thru November and Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 to 4 from December thru April. The Columbia County Museum is owned and operated by the Columbia County Historical Society.
The museum's changing exhibits interpret the social, economic, and political history of Columbia County and its placement in a larger historical context. Various exhibits themes are explored each year. The Society's collection of artifacts, documents, and historic structures enable it to preserve and interpret the counties'ssabalo historical and cultural heritage. The research library contains manuscript collections, genealogical records and books on local and family history. These materials are available for researchers during regular hours; appointments are advised for use of the manuscript collections.
Hours of Operation
Labor Day to Memorial Day Weekend on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 4pm, Saturdays 1pm to 4pm. Rest of year Monday to Saturday 1pm to 4pm. Closed all Federal Holidays.
